WESTERN AUSTRALIA AND TAIWAN INDEPENDENCE REVIEW

Western Australia has wanted to be a separate entity from the rest of Australia for a long, long time. With the passing of time many people came to believe that this is a difficult and complex process. Many have become disillusioned and have slowed down their interest in the process. The truth is that many other peoples around the world have been attempting to also become separate nation states.

In my posts I am going to present many and various parts of the world where people are trying to change their current predicament.

The most famous amongst the countries in our Asia Pacific region do to that are the People’s Republic of China (PPC) and Republic of China (ROC).  ROC also known around the world as Taiwan.

After the end of WW2 civil war erupted in China between the forces of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Nationalist Party, or Kuomintang (KMT). It ended in 1949 with the defeat of ROC.

PPC allowed ROC to leave the mainland China and to relocate to the islands known at the time as Formosa and Pescadores. Both political formations claimed each other’s territory and to represent the one and only country of China. This situation continues to date.

Fron this brutal beginning that group of islands became known as Taiwan. From an agriculture-based society in 1950’s Taiwan changed to become today as an industrialised, highly developed free-market economy.

In mid 1970’s USA changed its attention from ROC and since has concentrated its foreign policy and interests on PPC. The rest of the world has also to larger extend preferred to officially not recognise Taiwan.

The Taiwanese people, however, are determined to one day become a separate nation state.

Many people in Western Australian are also determined to one day became an independent nation state.
