IMMIGRATION
Immigration has a special place in my heart because I myself am an immigrant to Australia. Our country has been built by waves of immigration. This is why I say that immigration is like water – it is essential to human survival but also can bring dead and distraction if not treated with caution.
Uncontrolled water can flood and destroy crops, houses, towns, people and societies. Water needs to be controlled, funnelled, channelled and organised according to our needs. The same is with immigration. If left uncontrolled immigration can have disastrous effect on our country and society. Europe and USA have already discovered the effects waves of uncontrolled immigration.
Current federal immigration plans will have devastating effects on Australian communities if allowed to continue.
I am for stopping immigration for 3 years until we fix our housing shortage and cost of living problems first. After that we will continue to allow controlled immigration by making sure that we know who and why want to immigrate to Australia.
DENTAL CARE
The Australian Government does not cover the costs of dental care as if this is not part of the human body. Dental costs are paid for by patients who have medical cover. The rest linger for years poor mount and dental health because of uncontrolled and exorbitant prices. I believe this policy is a fundamentally unfair for all of us.
I believe dental care must be free of charge to all of us. For years we have financed and given monies to myriads of programs and projects of very questionable nature. Many of these projects can be cancelled and their fundings redirected toward financing free universal dental care in Australia. We already have a Heath Minister with all necessary administrative infrastructure to manage and finance one extra branch call Dental Care.
JULIAN ASSANGE
Julian Assange is an Australian citizen first and foremost. He was born and raised here in
Australia. He is and editor, publisher, and activist who founded WikiLeaks in 2006. In 2011
Julian Assange was involved in the publication of leaked US diplomatic cables. Because of that Julian Assange has been threatened many and various forces. Extensive surveillance operation against Assange the norm of the day and Australian government does not care.
I believe Julian Assange should be given full govern assistance and protection. Australia has help so many criminals, drug smugglers, shady characters only because they were Australian citizens. Julian Assange is exactly in the same category and this must be corrected.
